July 1st to July 3rd in 1863 were some of the most important days in American History. Those were the three days of the Battle of Gettysburg. Approximately 51,000 Union and Confederate troops met their demise in what became one of the most important battles in the American Civil War. The Union victory in Gettysburg gave the North the upper hand for rest of the entire war.
