Antique Carved Wooden Singing Cowboy 6 Feet tall 0463-IND
Antique Carved Wooden Singing Cowboy 6 Ft tall.
The inspiration for Cigar Store Wood Carvings came after Native Americans introduced English settlers to tobacco in Virginia during the 1600s. Later, merchants put the sculptures outside their stores to show customers that they sold tobacco products. The image of the Native American was used as an homage to those earlier days when the friendly Natives showed the settlers their special crop. This one features a cowboy rather than an Indian and instead of holding cigars, he's holding a microphone. He's an antique that has been around old trading posts for decades. We think this carving was inspired by country singer Kenny Rogers. It is so old it depicts Kenny as a younger man at the earlier end of his career. Although the exact carver of this sculpture is unknown, it is definitely a well-done antique produced with the same techniques as the famed Gallagher family. For his age, he shows little wear and is ready to watch over you store, restaurant, bar or home.
You've seen them at Trading Post, you've seen them at souvenir shops and restaurants, now you have the opportunity to own your own unique version of the classic cigar store wooden Indians. A truly unique conversation piece, for home, office or store front. Own a piece of American heritage, a hand carved Singing Cowboy sculpture.
